Top 5 US Hip-Hop Songs

Now I must stress this was a very difficult list to make and I must stress, these are the songs that have had a huge impact on me as a listener in 2017, I know there will be people saying Bodak Yellow should be there or 4:44 but as a consumer of music these are the songs I’ve had on repeat for the year.

5. DJ Khaled – I’m The One ft Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rappers and Lil Wayne

Now I know this one could almost be borderline a pop record and it probably doesn’t even deserve to be in this list, for me however this was one of my records of the summer, since it’s release it was one of my favourite records of the year, Quavo, Chance and Wayne all deliver solid verses with Justin Bieber delivering a mighty hook.

4. Drake – KMT ft Giggs

This record I think does cater to the UK audience a lot more, this was an almighty collaboration between the 6ix God and Hollowman Giggs and was a feature many in the UK were excited to hear. Giggs’ verse will go down as one of the best verses by a rapper this year and if you hear this at a concert or in a club be prepared for it it go insane.

3. Migos – Motorsport ft Cardi B x Nicki Minaj

Released only recently this record has had a huge impact on the scene with the mild controversy surrounding this song with the supposed diss between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, taking that away, this is a great song with everybody shining on this record. Cardi B and Nicki Minaj really do however steal the spotlight on this Migos record.

2. Future – Mask Off ft Kendrick Lamar

This was arguably one of the biggest hip-hop records this year, Mask Off has been on heavy rotation all over the airwaves this year, however the Kendrick Lamar verse on the remix will go down as the best verse for me this year from a hip-hop artist.

1. Kendrick Lamar – Humble

Kendrick has truly ruled over 2017, Humble takes my number 1 spot for the best hip-hop song this year for lyrics, flow, visuals everything.
