Nicki Minaj – The Pinkprint – Album Review

Earlier this week Nicki Minaj released her third album The Pinkprint. Since releasing her sophmore album roughly two years ago the Young Money rapper has slowly been building up alot of momentum for this album. Minaj almost in my opinion went back to what she did best and that was just straight rapping and over the last year and a half she featured on many songs and just destroyed them. My favourite’s being her verse’s on YG’s My Nigga (Remix), August Alsina’s No Love and Usher’s She Came To Give It To You.

So onto the album it begins with a very personal song All Things Go which was a great start to the album however where I feel the album comes to life and just moves onto another level is Get On Your Knee’s with Ariana Grande. The Beyonce assisted Feeling Myself is another hit. However Want Some More and Four Door Aventador which was produced by UK Artist and Pink Friday signing Parker Ighile showcases Nicki’s lyrical ability and make you realise how talented she actually is and reminds of the buzz she came through with.

(“Who had Eminem on the first album?Who had Kanye saying, “She a problem?”Who the fuck came in the game made her own cologne?Who made Lil Wayne give ’em five million?) *Want Some More

Buy A Heart which features Meek Mill is another favourite of mine and I feel the two really do complement each other on this song. The Night Is Still Young is a smash, Bed of Lies which features Skylar Grey and this is a great song and when Nicki Minaj performed this at the MTV EMA’s 2014, I was blown away by it and how personal the lyrics were. The album finishes with a beautiful song in Grand Piano and was the perfect way to end the album.

The album in genral I feel is Nicki Minaj’s best album to date, I felt Nicki what she did the most impressive is find a balance in which she raps and sing’s and got that nailed on. The personal feel of the album makes it a great listen to and is something that stand’s out the most in the album.

My Favourite’s from The Pinkprint – Get On Your Knee’s ft Ariana Grande, Feeling Myself ft Beyonce, Want Some More, Four Door Aventador, Buy A Heart, Truffle Butter ft Drake and Lil Wayne (Deluxe Version)
